Luján de Cuyo — Wine Country, Mendoza
01 — Getting There

Arriving in Mendoza

Mendoza is located in western Argentina, at the foot of the Andes. The nearest wine regions — Maipú, Guaymallén and Luján de Cuyo — are just 20–30 minutes by car from the city center.

El Plumerillo International Airport

Direct flights from Santiago, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Lima and Panama. Connections from anywhere in the world via Santiago de Chile.

Domestic Flights

Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi and JetSMART connect Mendoza with Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Córdoba, Salta and other Argentine cities.

International Bus

Direct services from Santiago de Chile arrive at Terminal del Sol in Guaymallén, adjacent to the city center.

02 — When to Visit

The ideal time

Mendoza's climate is dry and mild, with over 300 sunny days per year. Summers above 35°C (95°F), cool winters with occasional snow in the mountains.

Fall and spring are the ideal seasons — the vineyard landscape in autumn is extraordinary: red, orange and gold at the foot of the Andes.

If your dates are flexible, prioritize April, May, June, September, October and November: low season with the best prices.

March is unique: end of summer and the National Grape Harvest Festival — one of the most important celebrations in South America.

Tastings — What a typical visit includes

The classic visit includes a tour of the vineyard, the winery and the cellar. The tasting covers 3 to 5 glasses with water and small bites between each pour.

Special tastings: winemaker blending sessions, wine and chocolate, blind tastings, technical tastings for experts or buyers. Our Custom Tour service coordinates all of these at no extra charge.

Winery experiences: vineyard spa, sunset dinners among the vines, harvest in February and March. Ask us to design something unique for you.

08 — Comparison

Traveling with UVA vs. on your own

With UVA Wine Tours On Your Own
We group geographically close wineries. All tours are fully private. You'd need to research which wineries are near each other.
We know current offerings, hours and languages. We handle everything. You'd need to research each winery's hours and language options separately.
We work with top-tier wineries. You get access to the best experiences. Finding exclusive or technical experiences takes significant research time.
We know the full local network: sailboats, balloons, spa, cooking and more. Transfer included. You'd need to research every add-on activity independently.
Free Custom Tour service. We're local providers — no middlemen. Logistics for groups of 8+ people become very complex.
New vehicles, EMETUR-licensed professional drivers, full insurance. Someone in the group has to be the designated driver — no wine for them.
Tours in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Communication can be difficult if you don't speak Spanish.
We handle all bookings and tickets. You just enjoy. You need to manage each reservation independently.
"Mendoza is waiting. We make sure you don't spend a single minute of your trip on logistics."
